Questions about rental yield in Bucharest

What is gross rental yield?

The yearly rent divided by the purchase price, before any costs or tax. €900 a month on a €200,000 home is 5.4%.

What is net rental yield?

What is left after management, cleaning, building fees, property tax and tax on rental income, divided by the price. Where a tax has a range, the net yield shows a range too.

Why is there no holiday-let average?

Published holiday-let figures are mostly marketing estimates, so we only show the long-term average. Holiday lets earn more per night but are seasonal and cost more to run, so the two are not comparable.

Where do the city averages come from?

From Global Property Guide's median asking rents and prices, for long-term lets before costs and tax. The source and date sit next to each average.
